Dear my dearest fast walker;
“All truly great thoughts are conceived by walking.“ Friedrich Nietzsche
and I have to agree with him , we all join this walk for a reason , none of us is there for nothing … after exhausting days at schools colleges and work , we go to this walk, to socialize which no one can deny it , to walk some of us wants to lose weight others wants to have a break think Nietzsche’s way or just want have a break of thinking … different reasons but same walk …but why am I writing this you may wonder but couple of comments on the walk specially yesterday’s walk !
Driving Vs. Walking
As start I don’t recall I have seen any kids in the walk, there were teenagers and I won’t call them kids … but the shocking attitude I got from some people implies that some acts like kids even if they don’t look like one …Gandhi (the Great leader) said wisely “BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD” …so how many of us actually drives ? or even hires a cab ? or just being a passenger in a car ..? I believe we all do … how does it feel like to be on the otherside of the street NOT the WALKER rather the DRIVER … you will curse on those people who are walking that RANDOM .. you won’t respect their reasons , you wouldn’t wait their endless flow .. U will try to cross them with the vehicle forcing them to stop ! wouldn’t you ?
when I asked some people to stop so they let some cars to pass I got all kind of rejections and weird looks as if I speak Indian ! lets put ourselves on the other persons shoes and think … the street is not ours .. and if we have such a big event that doesn’t mean we own the world , and as we demand people’s respect we have to start that of ourselves..
Your safety not rules!
When those amazing young guys struggle to make you walk on the left side of the street , they don’t like it .. and they are not imposing orders, what they are actually doing is caring for your safety , as on the left side of the street you usually face the cars that’s coming , you walk in the opposite directions of the cars which make it easier for you to avoid any tragic events or any car in rush , if you and the cars were walking along the same direction you wouldn’t be able to spot them , no one has eyes on the back of their heads !!! so I don’t get the fact of walking on the right side , you want to skip some of people to walk faster you can do that on the left side as well you don’t have to run in the middle of the street to achieve that , we have brains to think BETTER ! and we all know better !
Colors doesn’t mean authority
Do we need someone to tell us how to walk, SERIOUSLY?!
How about Mowaffaq and the guys quieted the walk for some reason for one day , would we fail to walk ! why do we even need someone to tell us how to cross the street and how to walk on the side of it for not shutting down roads , and cross the street in 90˚ angle so we can see the whole street and not take any risks of any sort of accidents ! when some tried to help out the last time we heard the words “you are not wearing an orange vest” 15 times from different people , to respect My walk and make this experience safe doesn’t need a color to do it .. am no one’s boss and nobody in the walk is !
but we shall respect have some ethics and some sense of responsibility in us , we are mostly all adults and no one of us would like this walk to stop because of someone whose suicidal and doesn’t know how to walk by rules of safety …
This walk is for us all , and we are all responsible for it , no matter what colors we wear .. Help us , to Help you , lets all DROP THE SELFISHNESS and walk and let others make their ways as well if the cars passed that doesn’t pull you back and if you walked on the left side that doesn’t make you less important and if you walked on the right that doesn’t make you right ! walk for your own good , and remember in the street LEFT IS RIGHT
